On our smallholding in Pilton, Somerset we naturally hand-rear our own FREE-RANGE, RARE BREED pigs and produce the highest welfare, quality pork products. Our pigs live a happy life outdoors and are allowed to develop and grow naturally, without the use steroids or growth promoters.

The meat from Britain’s traditional rare breeds of pig is something quite special. Raised in non-intensive conditions free to roam, the meat retains all the old-fashioned virtues of succulence, tenderness, full flavour and crackling like it used to be.

Free range naturally raised pigs mature more slowly, resulting in a much better eating quality when compared to meat from the mainstream market.

THE COST
Yes, our pork does cost more per kg than factory farmed pork, our pork is not packed full of chemicals and is produced to the maximum welfare standards. The cost of our pork reflects the true cost of rearing proper food with care and compassion.

We are passionate about preserving traditional rare breeds. So for every Half a Pig sold we will make a donation to the Rare Breed Survival Trust.
